Pavements are made up of pavers which are pieces of brick, stone, tile or concrete shaped bricks which are assembled into a pattern and set using sand and concrete foundation.
Pavers can be set with different colours and patterns and can fit into almost any landscape give the right design. At Melton concrete pros, we value your preferences in terms design and colour and will work with you in making an excellent pavement structure that is authentic and complements the surrounding environment. Most pavement colours mimic their surroundings and will have a natural earthy brown or grey colour however there is also the personal choice to have bolder colours if you choose to do so. There are so many types of pavers out there however they can be categorised into two distinct groups. Interlocking concrete pavers also known as segmental pavers rely on the strong connection that results from the interlocking of adjacent paver blocks. They have been used for thousands of years from civilisation such as the Romans and can still be seen on the streets of many European cities.
Stone pavers are the other type and is comprised of beautiful hard material such as basalt, granite, limestone, sandstone, Travertine and many more materials. Both pavers are equally solid choices for any pavement design that you require. |

Installation »Concrete paving can be divided into 3 stages namely: preparation, pouring and finishing. The whole process takes approximately 1-3 days and then a few days for curing and setting. »Sub-grade: The area of work is first graded which means that the area is cleaned, levelled and compacted ready for the next step. »Sub-base: This layer is what carries most of the load especially in vehicles and is needed to support the top concrete paver layer that is soon going on top. Aggregate such as sand and gravel is used as a sub-base and is compacted to make it stronger. »Alongside the sub-base concrete forms are put in place to allow concrete to be poured in to 'lock in' the layout of the paver. You must approve of the design at this stage before it is set in place. »Once concrete has been poured into the forms, It is levelled, coloured, stamped and sealed. This is then followed by the curing stage where your paver is now allowed to harden. At this stage it is important to not have any traffic or disruption on the pavers and usually takes days to fully set. For many decades now residents often rely on our contractors for exterior building work and the demand has since increased with newer properties being built everywhere alongside residents wanting to upgrade their outdated exteriors.
